Find Joy in the Journey...

I really LOVE this time of year.  I love waking up and opening the door and smelling the change in the weather.  OK OK I know we live in AZ and the "change" in the weather is only about 5 degrees but still I love it, to me it smells amazing.

I love the color of pumpkins, I wish we had trees that turned that color instead of what I am looking at this very moment, a palavered,  oh well what can you do at least I can decorate my home with the fake stuff to give me some sort of feeling of the leaves changing.

This weekend my little sister went to her final homecoming dance.  She was so busy that my mom and sisters and I got the awesome privilege of finding her a dress.  And what a task that was. Now I am not going to lie when I was in high-school if my dress had ANY sleeve that was enough for me but, my little sister is way better than me and so finding a MODEST dress, that didnt look like just a normal church dress or a 75 year old woman, was a mission to say the least.  Luckily we found just the one and she looked so cute.

I also got the awesome privilege of actually going to the Homecoming Football game at Mt View.  It was a lot of fun and Rubi really did a lot better than I expected.  It was funny though to see all the people that go to the games just to go.  I went to support my little sister who is in the color guard. You Rocked it out Steph!!!

Finishing up the weekend...
Conference was just what I needed right now, as I am sure it was for most of you.  Its always good to get a refresher on what is good and right and remind me of where I need to be. My favorite quote was by President Monson "Find Joy in the Journey"  that is what I am going to try to do because for me its way to easy to loose my perspective of what is most important.   I will let you know how it goes.

And the Ultrasound says....

This weekend was full of projects and adventures.

On Friday Cory helped me make some very cute frames for my best friend Chelsea who is due with her baby girl any day now.  I painted them black but haven't finished them because I want her to pick the final color.  I will post photos when they are done.

Then Friday afternoon Cory took Rubi on her first "Father Daughter Camp out"  I know you are all a little shocked that I let my one year old go but Cory wanted to so take her so bad.  So I packed them up and sent them off.  Grandpa took all the pictures so when I get some I will post them too.

So Friday night I was alone with nothing to do.  HAHA YA RIIIIIIIIGHT!!!  I had such a strange feeling of freedom... I went to Pei Wei and ended up getting my dinner for free because the girl kept messing up my order, then I went shopping with my sister, and Sat. I went to Chelsea's baby shower and got to see a ton of friends I havent seen for a while, it was amazing but I must say I was glad when Cory and Rubi came home safe and sound.

But what amazing freedom doesn't come with a little hurt.  Sat. night I went with Cory to urgent care because he thought he had an ingrown hair on his ribs and it started getting worse and worse and finally we went in and he has a staph infection.  Its yucky...I will NOT be posting pictures of his flesh eating disease that has left a huge hole in my husbands side but we do have some pretty good ones so if you are into that sort of thing let Cory know.

and finally..........

Well we are happy to announce that we will be having another GIRL!!!  I would have been happy no matter what the outcome but Cory is so excited that its a girl.  The Dr. said that she looks great and the ultrasound measured her at 10 oz. already which moved our due date up to Feb. 13th. Rubi was a big baby at 8 lb 6 oz and that was with being induced a week early, so lets hope that the Dr. feels like we can go a week early with this one too.  Something scary though is he said that my placenta is low and we will have to get another ultrasound in two months to make sure that its moved higher but if not...it will mean that I am placenta previa and it will be c-section city for me. lets pray that doesn't happen I rather enjoy my scar free stomach and Rubi will not be happy with a mommy on bed rest.
