I am being attacked...

I wrote this post last week and thought I lost it but today I found it....dont ask me how that happened.

So its not that surprising that with a new baby there has been some recourse that has come from my first child.
Scene 1-
We moved into my parents house in Nov.  So this means 8 adults, 4 children under 3, 3 dogs, 1 bird, some fish and last time i checked i think my brother has a snake all in one household.  And then my sister, her husband and there 3 kids and dog are over here once and maybe twice a week too.  So what I am getting at is that as far as the kids go its pretty much survival of the fittest...or fits...I am not sure which most of the time.  And Rubi has learned a trick or two of what being a kid is all about.

She does pretty good most of the time but as of lately this is how its has translated to affect my life.

Scene 2-
For the last nine months we have told Rubi that there is a baby in mommys tummy.  But how is a 9-18 month old really supposed to comprehend what that means...their not.  So when we brought Scotti home from the hospital and said "wheres the baby?"  a little confusion set in when mommy no longer just had a huge tummy that had taken away the lap that she once occupied. Now that not as fat tummy was being occupied by something else and it sure wasnt Rubi.

So this leads me to the next scene 3-
Rubi LOVES the "baby" and she gets it now but something still isnt right.  So where do those uneasy feelings go...you guessed it MOMMY.  Now heres where scene one comes into play.  She began HITTING ME!!! Well that didnt last too long before she understood that wasnt going to fly.  So after a few min. in time out we learned we do NOT hit mommy.  ok we are still working on it but its getting a lot better.

However this did not cure the uneasy feelings.

Heres to scene 4-
Last week I put Rubi down for her nap.  And she seriously loves naps, she goes down so easy no crying and sleeps for a couple hrs.  Well not last week.  I put her down and after an hour of her still making noises I go in and low and behold she learned how to take her pants and her diaper off.  (lets not forget that scene one helped a little with this new trick too).   Well of course there was pee and the washing of the sheets began.  Well as the week has progressed and 4 days later with poop in the mix I have finally resorted to TAPE.

LUCKILY it has worked so far....UNFORTUNATLY I fear those uneasy feelings are still there and I am a little terrified of what form they will release themselves next...

I will update the progress :(

V-Day

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!
I know that to many this day has become a commercial holiday and even turns many people off but I LOVE VALENTINES DAY. Lets be honest I love holidays period but I especially love this holiday.

It was 6 years ago tonight (the day before Valentines Day) is a little day I like to call mine and Cory's "texting anniversary" Yup you read it right 6 years ago Cory and I spent 4 hrs. texting back and forth.  I can remember it so vividly too.  It was a cold night and for some reason I was at home sulking and sitting in front of the fire at my parents house and I get a text from the manager at the car dealership that I worked at. We spent four hours just joking around and getting to know each other. I know that sounds weird but thats kind of why Cory and I worked so well together we both needed something low maintenance at that point. So texting was perfect.

Well the next night (V-Day) Cory called me up and asked if I had plans and he asked if I wanted to "hang out". (because he was dating a girl and he didnt want her to think they were serious so he canceled last min. LAME) well those words  "hang out" became curse words, to me, for the next 2 years of my life. This is why...Cory and I never "dated" before we got married.  We went from "hanging out" to engaged.  I will leave the rest of that story for another blog.  I must say though if you would have told me 6 Valentines Days ago that this is where I would be today I probably would have had you committed to the looney bin.

But even through it all tonight I sit here with my sweet baby and husband sleeping on the couch next to me and I must say that tonight I am content with where my life is.

We proudly introduce.....

Scottlyn Reece Lucas
Born : Feb. 4th 2009
Time: 11:34 pm
Weight: A whopping 8lb. 9 oz.
Height 21 1/2in

We are so excited to have this sweet sweet little girl in our family.  My heart is BURSTING with love for this baby.  She is such a precious little darling.

So now to document the birth (more for my records than for you, so you dont have to read this if you dont want to.)

We went in at 3:00pm for induction.  Of course we were 15 min late like always.  Cory pulled out the packing check list at 2:45 and started asking me if I was sure I packed (he seriously thought that I hadnt packed yet).

When we got in there I was already 3cm dilated and 90% effaced.  And so they started me on oxytoxin drip at 4:35 pm.

I never had much pain up till then but the nurse suggested that I get my epidural because my Dr. usually made rounds at the hospital after he gets done at the office and he would probably break my water.  So I got the epidural at 6 pm.

Sadly my epidural was uneven so I was completely numb on my left side and not really on my right but then I started having back labor only on my left side and even though I was numb it hurt so bad.  I was in so much pain for about an hour that finally the anesthesiologist came in and changed the meds.  After that it was smooth sailing.

The Dr didnt come check on me till 9pm and when he checked I was at a 4 and before he could use the "hook" on me to break my water...it burst on its own.  And when I use the term BURST I mean full on fluid GUSHING everywhere.  It overflowed onto the floor and made huge puddles.  My Dr. compared it to the movie Cone Heads.  haha I feel bad for my cute nurse who is 5 months preggo herself and had to clean it up.  It was everywhere.

I went from a 4 to a 10 in 2 hrs. and by the time the Dr. got back she was already crowing.  So I hiked up my legs pushed once her head was out, got a little snippage from the doc., pushed a second time and she was here.  It was amazing.

So here she is.  Calm, beautiful, and the newest love and obsession of my life!!!

Well this is it...my last real whole day of my life as I have know and LOVED for the last 17 months is about to come to an end. On Wed. I am going to be induced at 3 pm.

Now dont get me wrong I am very excited to meet this little girl that has been kicking the tar our of her mama for the last nine months.  And yes it will be nice to be able to sleep on my tummy again.  And hopefully my hips will go back into place and stop hurting me.

But I must say....I cant help but feel like I am going to be loosing something very special.

What is that you ask.

Well I have been thinking about this a lot ever since I got pregnant and I have talked to probably everyone I know about this and they say I will get over it. However the feeling that I am having is about missing the relationship that I have with Rubi.  Wow even sitting here writing this it makes me tear up (darn prego hormones).  I am very sad that what Rubi and I have will be lost forever.  My Rubi is my best friend.  Seriously I spend every waking moment of her life right next to her.  If I leave the room she is there.  If she leaves the room I follow.  If I go potty so does she. Most of my life is spent just watching her and studying everything she does. Her mind amazes me. I love to just watch and watch and watch. I really dont even go anywhere on my own unless she is asleep because I dont want to miss a moment.  She is my lil diva.  She is what has gotten me through this last year which hasnt been easy.

With that said, I have also had a strong impression that this baby, Rubi's sister, has been sent here for HER.  I know that adjustments will have to be made but I also know that without a doubt that these sisters couldnt wait to be together again.  Rubi needs this baby to come right now and I cant wait to watch these two bond and become the best of friends.

Well wish US luck in welcoming this sweet angel into our lives.  Say a lil prayer that everything goes well.
